I recently took a long awaited trip to New Orleans and met Paul at an open house. He was so friendly and easy going that when he invited my friend and I to his bar that evening, we new we had to go. We never expected, however, to have the time of our trip at JohnPauls. During my stay in N.O. , I did the usual tourist stuff....Bourbon street, French Quarter, Cafe Dumonde, Maspero's, power shopping, various tours etc. Out of all of it, my absolute favorite was the night I spent at JohnPauls. I have been to several bars/clubs in my area (D.C.) and none have been as friendly and fun as JohnPauls. I couldn't believe how good the drinks were and the prices were quite fair. It was easy to meet people as the atmosphere lends itself to good conversation and if that wasn't enough reason to go....I was then handed a bowl of freshly popped popcorn at the beginning of the most darling drag show! Marcy and the ladies were wonderful! JohnPauls is one of those places you hope to find on vacation...the kind of place that locals enjoy and keep secret for themselves. Check out the upstairs of this place. It's like a Bayou mansion, classically decked out in a Victorian interior design. The owners and staff are so friendly, it will blow your damn mind. I went to this place during Southern Decadence, and I can't stop thinking about it. They served a great barbecue pork dinner. All the food in this town is great.

Simply Tragic. Don't bother. Go across the street !

Went to John Paul's several times during the last Mardi Gras and had a great time especially during the Krewe of Olympus' Houston's social/party. I look forward to going again during Labor Day weekend's Southern Decadence 2009. They also had excellent Bloody Marys.

I have only visited JohnPauls twice and both times the owners were there to greet you and welcome you to their bar. I have never been anywhere like this place, it makes you want to keep on coming back.

The bar has made me feel welcome and when I did a performance there the staff made me promise that I would return. THey go out of their way to be wonderful to each and every person in the bar. My straight friends enjoy the shows and hte atmosphere of the bar and return as often as they can. We LOVE John Pauls

This bar is probably one of the friendliest places you can visit in NOLA. The owners go out of their way to greet all the guests when they are there. They make you feel comfortable and a part of all the action. Even when the crowds are small, which is not often, you can have a great time. Shows are great. Check it out when you are in town, You will NOT regret you did.

Friendly crowd, always have a good time. It's become the best show bar in New Orleans. John and Paul are the greatest and bartenders like John are extremely hard to find. Fast and friendly service even when the bar is packed for shows and special events. John and Paul are continually making improvements and making it one of the very best bars in the nation.

A wonderful good time bar with a great show and drink prices...and all are welcome there!

Drag shows every week, lots of locals, clean bar with nice upstairs bar, always a function going on, late night on weekends, worth going to.
