The Manager Jerry is a piece of shit, he doesn't know the first thing about customer service and hooks up in the bar, and completely ignores your requests... awful service but some bartenders are nice like Letha, Jeff, Sean and Josh.. the rest suck...

Almost an institution, this gay bar is nearly 60 years old-- and in the same location. It's a friendly, fun, noisy bar with lots of frolicking. It's always been a good place to meet people. When people say older crowd, they just mean there's a wide range of ages-- not just twinks and disco bunnies (who more likely are hanging out at Oz and the Bourbon Pub).

When you are in New Orleans, things are different. You are not going to find any elegant bars here. This one is a typical tourist bar, with bartenders KNOW you are in town for just a few days, so they do not give good service. Drinks are way too high, but you ARE in New Orleand so go ahead and have fun. You can't go wrong ordering either can or bottle beer.

Great atmosphere! Bartenders and patrons are very friendly. Different events every night! We were there for the ravioli wrestling! What a trip! We were also there for drive in movie night! Car speakers and all! It is a VERY fun place. Walk in with a smile on your face and they will flash you one right back!
Thanks for showing two guys from Paradise a good time.

I rememeber when they BARELY allowed women in this bar. After Katrina I walkedin to find a women bartender. Although it was dead I was THRILLED. I'm sure it's picked up by now. It used to be the busiest bar no matter what time. The music is good, love the balcony.

What a horrible time we had at Lafitte's. First off our drinks were weak as can be. when we asked for more liquor this nellie twink charged us an additional 14.00 for more liqour. After spending 28.00 on drinks we left a 2.00 tip and we're made a face at. After speaking to the manager, Cory a short pompous jerk, we we're told that the drinks were measured through asystem and we had to pay for each shot. AAnd if we ddint' like it we should go somewhere else. Rude staff, expensive weak drinks, and an inept manager.

Greatest bar ever! The drinks are cheap even though there measured, the atmosphere is contagious. The staff are completely off the wall. The black chick during the day is out of her mind and the big burly Alex from Boston is the most hilarious person I ever met, not to mention hottttttttt! A must for any traveler gay or straight!

I think it's the best place to hang out and party on Bourbon! All of the staff makes you feel right at home. Aletha, is great! And Jeff, on Sunday's, FREAKIN ROCKS!!! Love you guys! Thanks for always making us welcome, and wanting to come back for more.

If you like Dirty leather/levi/bear/etc.. Hit Lafitte's. The crowd is always friendly, and they have a fun staff. No dancing and again, a pool table that sees plenty of action but not much pool playing!

This overlooked step-sister of the more famous Oz and Bourbon Pub can be a great place to buy your drinks for the street during the more crowded weekends. It's only one block away (in the quiet direction). The crowd isn't as cute, but fun can definitely be had.
So, what do you say?
