Boys on the bar
While you'll find lots of bars with go-go boys, The Corner Pocket seems to manufacture them. During the day it's a casual neighborhood bar, but by night, bring your dollars and play stuff-that-jockstrap!

The Corner Pocket has a long history of bringing in some of the hottest (and a few of the not-so-hot) bar-top strippers in New Orleans. On a typical weekend night, you'll find an assortment of 20-something go-go boys turnt out in all their g-string and jockstrap glory. The crowd varies from night to night, but is usually packed to the rafters on weekends, especially during special events like Mardi Gras and Southern Decadence. A diverse crowd of 20-, 30-, 40-, and 50-somethings (and above) call this local hotspot their neighborhood bar, and you can easily tell the locals from the tourists simply by watching who gets stuck in the crowd while trying to get to the bathroom (clue: it's always the tourists) The bartenders here are the real treasure, though. If you're lucky enough to be there when it's slow and quiet enough to carry on a conversation, Bruce, Anthony, and Miss Ashley will show you exactly what fun in New Orleans is supposed to look like. These are veteran bartenders who don't mess around when it comes to good service, friendly conversation, and one of the few remaining unmeasured pours in the French Quarter. Personal safety should always be anyone's number one priority when partying in the French Quarter, but take special care here, as some of the young patrons/dancers have been known to liberate a gentleman of his wallet, usually without his knowing it. (I speak from experience!) Keep your wits about you, be mindful of whose hands go where, and if you leave the bar with a stranger, always let someone know who you're with and where you'll be. It's a sad and frustrating fact that the French Quarter is teeming with a criminal element that prey on unwary tourists, drunken locals, and anyone who they appraise as being an easy target. So if you are travelling alone, just watch your surroundings and stay in well lit areas on your way to and from this most excellent bar.
