Rather than just the leather crowd, this bar serves the community of masculine men who like other masculine men. The guys you see in magazines are few and far between here. They're just regular guys in jeans and T-shirts. But, they are not stand-offish. Upstairs is a dark, dark bar where things happen after 10 pm. More crowded on weekends. Definitely a place for the over 40 and 50- who are most welcomed here. Not body-conscious- so every "type" comes here.

The place to find mature men into "naughty" behavior. Outside the French Quarter - a short cab ride away - the two floor bar with patio is a notoriously fun place. By day and throughout much of the week, the Phoenix appears to be nothing more than a neighborhood bar. But at night, particularly weekend nights, the bar sports a down and dirty cruise atmosphere. The bartenders are very friendly. The clientele runs the gamut, from gym bunnies, bears, otters, pigs - all in pursuit of wildlife.

We were there during Decadence and went for the Leather Block Party... It was PACKED. The bartenders were very friendly, even though it was amazingly busy..

I have travelled all over the world and my partner and I always would come back to NOLA just to have fun upstairs! It's small, it's dark but it's just plain hot! No need to be shy here. If it is a guy you are after, you WILL find him here. Never disappointed. One on ones, threeways, couple swaps, orgies...you name it...damn...I love this place! And hairy chests drive me nuts!

Upstairs: 8 middle-aged, overweight guys wandering around waiting to see who drops their pants first. Downstairs: loud, bright, ordinary.

Went with a friend to bar. Went to the upstairs around 9ish.... Some naked men walking around and playing...all kinds of men here...Nice place to visit for a change.
