Clean, fun, and a little off the beaten path
Directly across from the world-famous Armstrong Park, GrandPre's is loved by locals and tourists alike. The highlight of this spot is its gorgeous brick courtyard, the perfect spot for a sunny day.

The bar has changed owners

Michael's on the Park is now Grandpre's. The atmosphere is completely different and the energy is great. It is the new hot spot in the French Quarter boasting the only patio of all the gay bars in the Quarter.

Michael is always a smiling and friendly face

This location has become a great show bar with 2 to 4 shows a week and a favorite bar of many of the Gay Mardi Gras Krewes. A major sponsor of the Gay Easter Parade, Michael's is always the starting point for gathering to greet everyone and enjoy Michael's wonderful buffet. I can't say enough good things about Michael's.

friendly bar

***there have been some major changes in the last year, in fact it was closed, waiting to reopen under new management. I am not so keen on the "new" club situation but time will tell**** Both the clientelle and the staff are for the most part friendly. The drag queens are a delight socially. I joined a couple of them on a side trip to another bar...in their car, just like old friends. I feel at home here. (this bar is now closed, scheduled to re-open under new management, but time will tell)

Without Loretta, it would have been a total bust!

We went to see a specific "Lady" from Alabama perform and she was great (as were most of the other Ladies) but the place is such a dump! There was a large group of us and when we all ordered drinks at the same time, it overwhelmed the bartender and we didn't get any... Very disappointed in the service.
