Black Workers Organize

Join Stand with Dignity as celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the New Orleans Worker Center by launching the New Orleans Black Worker Organizing History Timeline at the McKenna Museum from 12:00-3:00 on June 18th. The conversation about the historically significant moments in Black Worker Organizing in New Orleans will inspire us all to action, embolden us in our fights and build a stronger foundation for the movements that we are building together. The timeline will be hosted on an online platform, and we know that our history is deeply hidden, so what we present on the 18th will only be the beginning of a journey to discover and develop a rich online educational resource that we can use to educate and inspire ourselves. We work everyday to understand the struggles of our ancestors in New Orleans and we are not only in the process of discovering the historical fights of Black workers in New Orleans, but we endeavor to make this timeline a space to tell Our current stories as well, and preserve them for future generations to come.
