// OPENING NIGHT PARTY //
The Opening Night Party will be the official kick-off of Architecture & Design Film Festival: New Orleans. The party will be on the first night of the festival, August 11th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Carver Theater. The party will have an open bar, DJ J.Bacqués bringing us some Euro vibes, food catered by MoPho Chef Michael Gulotta, named one of 2016 Food & Wine's Best New Chefs. Following the Opening Party will be the opening film, "The Infinite Happiness" from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. This 2015 Danish/French documentary was directed by Ila Bêka & Louise Lemoine. It studies the playful architecture of Copenhangen's "8 House", designed by architect Bjarke Ingels through living in a community by design. // THE FILMS //
The three-day event will screen films varying in topics ranging from preservation issues, modern architecture, youth participation, women’s roles, gentrification and more. Around twenty films will be screened in a combination of feature-length and short films. Films will be shown in New Orleans Mid-City neighborhood at the Broad and Carver Theaters.

FRIDAY, August 12th
12:15-1:00pm:
Book talk + signing by co-author Guy Carwile of The Modernist Architecture at the lecture space of the Louisiana Humanities Center. Carwile's talk us FREE and open to the public. His book (plus more architecture books) will be available for sale Maple Street Books at the event.
4:00pm:
Film “If You Build It” followed by a round-table discussion with local organization heads involved in local youth construction and design initiatives. Films continue running throughout the day until 11:00pm.
5:00pm-6:30pm:
Happy Power Hour at the Broad Street Theater Bar, hosted by the Louisiana Architectural Foundation (LAF) + Women In Architecture (WIA). A networking and social event prior to a 6:30pm film, "Who Dares Wins: Zaha Hadid", at the Broad Theater. This film is FREE to the public in honor of recently departed and revered architect, Zaha Hadid
SATURDAY, August 13th
10:30am:
Coffee + donuts at Carver Theater, before the scheduled film The Human Scale. Following the film, a panel discussion with a variety of local voices will discuss the film's themes.
3:30pm:
Book talk + signing by co-author Pres Kabacoff, Revitalizing Cities: The HRI Vision on the 2nd floor of the Carver Theater. Kabacoff's talk is FREE and open to the public. His book (plus more architecture books) will be available for sale Maple Street Books at the event.

We welcome any and all architecture, design and film enthusiasts to join the festival on any and all nights of their choosing. The festival will promote architecture awareness and help the public participate in events in Louisiana supporting architecture.
