Sing along with Maria, the Captain, and all the von Trapp kids as The National WWII Museum hosts a participatory screening of the 1965 film classic The Sound of Music.
The wildly successful Sound of Music Sing-along is back at The National WWII Museum. Anticipate a night of campy nuns, costumes, sweet songs, and laughter. Participants are encouraged to dress up, boo the Nazis, and sing along with everyone’s favorite Rodgers & Hammerstein tunes from the Austrian countryside—"Edelweiss", "My Favorite Things", "Climb Ev'ry Mountain", "Do-Re-Mi", and, of course, the stirring title song.
Hosts Becky Allen, Sean Patterson, and Mandy Zirkenbach will preside over the festivities, which include an intermission costume contest, a selfie station, and giant video displays screening the film as well as a live feed from participants’ social-media accounts for real-time commentary and 140-character comedy.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. in the Museum’s US Freedom Pavilion: The Boeing Center. The film will begin at 7:00 p.m. A cash bar and snack bar will be available.
**PleaseNote: The Sound of Music Sing-Along will feature unpredictable interactive elements in a live setting – costumes, Twitter posts, and the larger-than-life hosts – that may not be appropriate for all ages.
Tickets are only $5. Purchase one now: http://bit.ly/298taKi
