MARK FARINA (Great Lakes Audio / Mushroom Jazz)
Celebrating 25 Years of Mushroom Jazz /
Shortly after Mark befriended Derrick Carter in 1988 at a record store in Chicago, his passion for House music, and sharing it with the world, exploded.
Mark experimented with a deeper style, dropping De La Soul, disco classics and other stuff that wasn’t being played in the main rooms of nightclubs. While exploring his love for the purist forms of House Music, Mark developed his trademark style: Mushroom Jazz; acid jazz infused with the West Coast’s jazzy, organic productions combined with urban beats.
Fans embraced Mark’s downtempo style so much that he started a weekly Mushroom Jazz club night in San Francisco with Patty Ryan. In 3 short years, the club established a fanatical, cult-like following for Farina and the Mushroom Jazz sound. When the doors closed, Farina continued the tradition by releasing a series of Cds on OM Records: simply titled, “Mushroom Jazz”.
Since then, Mark has been traveling the globe performing 100s of shows, to over one million club goers, every year. His House sets take fans on journeys to the jazzy side of Chicago House mixed San Fran style. Some of these sets have been known to last up to 8 hours. And sometimes you’ll find Mark playing in two different rooms at the same party, showcasing his range of big room sound to the uber-chill.
When Mark’s not touring, you can likely find him in his studio, working on his next release for his imprint, Great Lakes Audio, or on another signature mix for Mushroom Jazz.
Mark’s chunky-funky underground house style continually turns the heads of tastemakers worldwide, drawing him not only new fans, but landing him on the Top DJs in the World lists by URB, MUZIK and BPM Magazines.

*Cameron Kelly started his journey as an audiophile at the very young age of 4 when he was given his first phonograph. He soon found that it was his mothers Disco 45's that captured his ear rather than the read-along books that came with it. Having been raised by a young woman of the 70’s, a Father who had a passion for rock of the 60’s/70’s, Aunts and Uncles who were children of the 80’s, as well as grandparents from deep in the bayou’s of Louisiana - all from the heart of Dixie Land - Cameron's rich musical history of diverse and soulful melodious taste reflects the spectrum of souls occupying the streets of his hometown, New Orleans.
Playing mostly small, underground events throughout the U.S., Cameron has made his mark in the House Community. On top of his own Headlining spots, he has shared the stage with House Music Icons, such as, DJ Pierre, Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Roland Clark, Gene Ferris, King Kooba, Wally Callerio, Wattie Green, dj Heather, Demarkus Lewis, Terry Mullan, Corduroy Mavericks, JLettow, Mazi, Bruno Browning, The Flying Almaria Brothers, J. Caprice, John Hawley and more mainstream acts such as Ghostland Observatory, Big Freedia, Kermit Ruffins, Amanda Shaw, and Many more. He is also no stranger the festival scene, having played BUKU Art and Music Festival in Louisiana, SXSW in Texas, Ignition Festival in New Orleans and is a regular at the intimate Escape in the Beats in Missouri. He is proudly one of 5 dj’s to have every played The famous Preservation Jazz Hall of New Orleans and has picked up a residency as the first House Dj for Jazz in the Park, a free jazz concert every Thursday, in old Storyville. He holds affiliations with some of the hardest working crews in the business, like INICIO in St. Louis and Reason2Funk based out of the U.K.He has done guest mixes for House Salad in Mexico, The Infusion Project in San Diego and Kansas City Techno in Missouri, Reason2Funk from the UK and will soon have mixes for SNS records of Chicago, Little Routine out of France and Dj Pierre’s Crew, Afro Acid.
*In his sets, Cameron pulls the musical influence of his past, present and future to take you on a funky ride into the depth of his musical cerebellum. By sticking with his fail-proof technique in paying homage to the roots of House Music culture, Cameron's sets are a collaboration of soulful, techno, and acid sensations that are sure to keep you moving.
Cameron is also hard at work at home, pushing his concepts, The NOLA Housing Project, in which he hosts out of town guests like Andrew Emil, T.Mixwell and so many more, for free. His main promotion crew, Kinetic Productions, that laid the foundation for the revival of the House Community of New Orleans as well as many other regional greats. Driven by cheerful Kinetic energy, there is no slowing down for Cameron Kelly.
