Great New Orleans charm
When I travel to places I usually stay in chain hotels because they are consistent. However, New Orleans begs visitors to check out the charming characteristics of the French Quarter buildings. This is a great local hotel that hasn't been spoiled by how hotel chains seem to mechanize everything. Great charm, laid back atmosphere and within easy walking distance to all of the French Quarter
Wonderful customer service, upscale & comfortable
This is now known as the Bourbon Chateau, a Wyndham Historic Property. I got a great deal through their website for Decadence 09. While not everything was perfect (the internet wasn't working when I arrived and there was a minor housekeeping issue) the customer relations person, Jackie and front desk relations Lisa made sure to keep me informed and even moved me to another room on the pool deck at my request. The only downside here is it is a little bit of a walk from the central gay area, but you do get a quality room and a reasonable price and plenty of quiet when you need it.
Bad service
I just called there for a reservation and the person that answered transferred me to a # that no one picked-up. Hung up and tried again and the first person answered again and in a very rude manor told me to call another time. I won't. Good luck if you try and call.
Soaring Ceilings
One of my favorite hotels. Love the room service. The staff is very courtious. Has a gay friendly bar with strong drinks.
