Adolfo's

(1 Rating)
Marigny's Italian/creole dive
New Orleanians like to keep this gem on the low. Nestled in the Marigny Triangle, Adolfo's is a nice fusion of Italian and creole food.

New Orleans Creole Italian at its best

Adolfo's mother was from Venice and his father from Seville. He toured Latin America for 5 years, and then jumped off a ship and swam to shore here. The rest is the American success story. He and his American wife have a fantastic, charming, intimate, quirky little restaurant upstairs above the Apple Barrel bar. The food is divine, and he now has a loyal following of locals and visitors alike. Try any fish dish with the shrimp and crawfish sauce on top. The quality of the food is wonderful. If you prefer to pay double the prices here for "haute Italian", try Maximo's or Irene's Cuisine. Excellent also, but quite expensive.
