Oldest Gay Bar in New Orleans!

I love everything about New Orleans and each time I go I must spend at least one evening relaxing on the upstairs balcony at Cafe Lafitte in Exile! The bar is not very large but as all parties in New Orleans seem to do – take it outside on the sidewalk where it feels like being apart of the bar with floor to ceiling windows that open to the street. My favorite spot is upstairs, past the amazing artwork on the wall out to the balcony. Cafe Lafitte plays movies on the wall of the building across from it and the view towards Canal street overlooking all the French style buildings is awesome. Nice staff and always nice patrons!

Bartender Shawn

He's a northern boy with southern charm! Shawn was quick with his smile and quick to make us feel welcome. He gave us great tips on where to eat and where to go for fun in the French Quarter. He gave our first trip to New Orleans the individual spark we were looking for.

Very friendly staff. I have been here several times and everytime I make a new friend. The drinks are good and shows are great. Like most of NOLA don't go because it is nice and clean, go becuase it's fun!

Management Sucks

The Manager Jerry is a piece of shit, he doesn't know the first thing about customer service and hooks up in the bar, and completely ignores your requests... awful service but some bartenders are nice like Letha, Jeff, Sean and Josh.. the rest suck...

Oldest gay bar in the South

Almost an institution, this gay bar is nearly 60 years old-- and in the same location. It's a friendly, fun, noisy bar with lots of frolicking. It's always been a good place to meet people. When people say older crowd, they just mean there's a wide range of ages-- not just twinks and disco bunnies (who more likely are hanging out at Oz and the Bourbon Pub).
