Mardi Gras is right around the corner, and with Carnival approaching we knew we couldn't just keep the wig up on the shelf.. so grab your beads and beers, Hedwig is back to kick off Mardi Gras at the Allways Lounge! Skin Horse Theater joins forces once again with New Orleans indie-rock sensation Whom Do You Work For? for a return engagement of Hedwig and the Angry Inch! All performances of the punk-rock opus will begin at 8 pm at the Allways’ bar, but arrive early since Whom Do You Work For (who the Gambit called one of 2012’s “Artists to Watch”) get the party started with an opening set at 7!

‘Hedwig and the Angry Inch’ tells the story of “internationally ignored song stylist” Hedwig Schmidt, a fourth-wall smashing East German rock ‘n’ roll goddess who also happens to be the victim of a botched sex-change operation, which has left her with just an “angry inch”..

Evan Spigelman and Nat Kusinitz return as Hedwig and Yitzhak in a gritty, raucous production that will start your Mardi Gras off with a bang! But don’t take our word for it! Hear what others are saying:

Winner of the 2012 Big Easy Award for Best Actor in a Musical (also nominated for Best Director of a Musical and Best Musical)
