The Showcase is a culmination of GRP teaching artist residencies at 4 New Orleans schools, Renew Cultural Arts Academy, St. Mary’s Academy, Success Preparatory Academy, and The International School of Louisiana, during which 115 fifth and sixth grade students learn about theatre, see a professional production, and most importantly, each write their own original play.
In addition to the evening performance that is open to the public, the students will come to Dillard University’s Cook Theatre on the same day for a 10 am matinee performance. Every student will receive a formatted and professionally printed copy of his/her play.
Goat In the Road Productions is a New Orleans based performance ensemble, dedicated to the production of original and invigorating new works or theatre, dance, performance art, and educational programming. For more information visit www.goatintheroadproductions.org.
