LOVE THIS PLACE - but a few changes
First off, I've only been here mostly over Southern Decadence, so I don't want to say something unfair towards a regular weekend. Southern Decadence is always a blast at the Pub - here's what I noticed this time. Music downstairs was different. Downstairs, not as much regular, campy music or funny vid clips. The charge one night was $30 at one point. What! Ok, if you had a weekend pass, great. I saw people getting out of line when they saw the price. All in all, I had a terrific time, nice bartenders and dancers and the patrons are just terrific. Can't wait to come back. I was with our regular (annual) traveling group.

Okay some of them may be a bit fuzzy in retrospect. :) But it's one of the best bars in the country! Great staff, generous drinks and fun music are all part of the cocktail that makes the Bourbon Pub so intoxicating...literally.
Why such an expensive cover?
I love the pub - great videos downstairs and great music upstairs - but I find a $10 cover on your average weekend (more when its a holiday) is just too much. Maybe folks from bigger cities like L.A. and NYC are used to that, but I'll either skip the Pub or get in really early so I don't have to pay.
Definitely the place to be on Bourbon St!
