Chef Donald Link creates fine New Orleans fare

(Herbsaint is the name of a New Orleans liqueur-- the local version of French Pernod. They took this name for the restaurant.) The chef shows off his South Louisiana roots, frequently fusing them with the best techniques of fine French cooking. He also owns Cochon, another popular restaurant. The French Fries here are about the best to be had anywhere. I sometimes order them as a side (and I never think of ordering fries normally). This restaurant is popular with the Financial District crowd for lunch, but has a loyal following at dinner, when visitors staying in the many hotels nearby partake as well. Reservations suggested. Nice ambiance and outdoor dining in good weather.
