Opulent and muscular, RAGTIME unpacks and remixes the birth of the moving picture, the Harlem Renaissance, and the American tradition of armed insurrection as a tool to combat tyranny and oppression. Amidst appearances from historical figures like Harry Houdini, Booker T. Washington, JP Morgan, Henry Ford and Emma Goldman, the show centers on Coalhouse Walker, Jr. - an outstanding jazz pianist who demands dignity for the future American man.
RAGTIME features a spirited and diverse cast of 16, directed by Big Easy Award-winning Emilie Whelan* and starring Amy Alvarez, Ashley Rose Bailey, Thaddeus Bailey, Shannon Flaherty*, Jon Greene, Ian Hoch*, Clint Johnson, Kate Kuen, Donald Lewis, April Louise, Jessica Lozano*, Kevin Murphy, Andrew Vaught*, Cameron-Mitchell Ware, Philip Yiannopolous* and Angie Zeiderman.
